Become an Appraiser!

To become a real property appraiser, you will need to obtain education and experience, and pass a state-administered licensing or certification exam.


Experienced Certified General Appraiser

William G. Bowen, Inc. Hagerstown , Maryland is seeking an experienced Certified General Appraiser.  Our 45 year old firm is based in the scenic Potomac Highlands and primarily services the I-81 and I-70 corridors within three states and seven counties.  Along with a competitive fee split structure, we offer paid holidays, education allowances, certification fees, E/O coverage, turn-key office, support staff, senior guidance, etc.  We are also open to those that wish to work from home and have systems in place to facilitate such an arrangement.

Our current leadership structure includes; William G. Bowen, MAI (former Chairman - Maryland Real Estate Appraisal Commission) and Steven P. O’Farrell, MAI (current Chairman - Maryland Real Estate Appraisal Commission).  Collectively our team has >125 years of appraisal experience and prioritizes professional development and quality over volume.

Applicants should have a Certified General Certification; four year college degree; proficiency in MS-Word or WordPerfect, Argus, Excel; strong research and writing skills.
